About Booky; Deific Dev Editor
Hey, I’m Tim Saian—though online, you might know me better as Books_Will_Be. I’m a published author with over a decade of experience writing and serializing binge-worthy Progression Fantasy, and I now channel that hard earned EXP into Developmental Editing for other writers carving out their own worlds.
I specialize exclusively in LitRPG, Progression Fantasy, Epic Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi, and Mystery. These are the genres I love, the ones I’ve lived in as both a writer and a fan. Smart worldbuilding always excites me, and few things are more satisfying than helping a story tighten its pacing, sharpen its structure, or strengthen its character arcs until it sings. However, if you’re writing a Cultivation or Xianxia fiction, I’m cheering from the sidelines but I’m not your guy just yet.
My editing style is candid but optimistic. I’ll always call out repetition or missteps when I see them, but just as quickly, I’ll highlight the moments that work—those gems, even in early drafts, that show you exactly what you’re capable of. My goal is never just to ‘fix’ your story, but to help you understand why something works so you can keep doing it on your own.
Still not sure? I offer a free 1,000-word sample edit and a 15-minute consultation call to talk shop; whether it’s your plot outline, story intentions, or figuring out if we're the right fit.
Let’s make your vision something readers can’t put down.

What Writers Are Saying
"What stood out the most was his ability to identify both strengths and areas for improvement, such as enhancing world-building details and refining the transitions between key plot points." - Micheal Regal, Author of Insurrecto: Murder in the Far East

"It was apparent he’s read a lot in the space, and I received practical advice on a level I’ve not received in critique with other authors or my readers. Also happy to report that while he didn’t cut my chapters to shreds, I didn’t feel like he was pulling any punches in his assessment of my work. This is exactly what I approached him for." Adrum, Author of Top the Tower.

Booky has been a very big help with the writing. He has been very patient with helping me and coming up with ideas and coaching me through things when something doesn't make sense.
The biggest appreciation is being able to talk to someone verbally as I have trouble communicating what I need in text or writing. His services also are affordable for anyone starting off.
He has a strong sense of how to bring characters to life and a story as well.
Highly recommend for services.
Tim's review was fast, thorough, and honest in exactly the way I needed. He does a great job of showing that he cares about seeing a story reach its full potential, and gives specific feedback to empower you as the author to bring out your best work.
He was happy to answer my questions and follow ups, talked through ideas I had for improvement, and helped me think through my plan of attack.
Working with Tim was a phenomenal way for me to feel confident in the direction my edits needed to take in order begin truly bringing my manuscript to life.
“Great value for the price. Prompt and thorough analysis that took my notes and direction for the story into account with suggestions for how to integrate adjustments. Good communication, easy to work with. No complaints.”
I purchased Tim's editing services early this year, was great to work with. Tim has experience as an author and was able to understand and give me multiple perspectives both from the POV of a reader and an author as well.
I was also very satisfied with how fast he was able to come out with the editing of my 25 chapters, along with a succinct review not only in general but on a chapter-by-chapter basis.

Yes, I can edit a short excerpt (e.g., first 1,000 words, first chapter or even prologue and first chapter) so you can see my feedback style before committing.
For more vocally communicative writers I also offer a 15min voice call consultation over on discord.
-
I cover everything that stands out to me, providing unfiltered thoughts on each chapter, along with a comprehensive revision map that highlights recurring issues and areas for improvement. If the word count submitted is lower, I may provide a detailed summary with targeted suggestions instead. The final Dev Edit document often exceeds 3,000 words in feedback.
-
No, I specialize in Progression Fantasy, LitRPG, Horror, Sci-Fi, and Action. While storytelling principles overlap across genres, I won’t take on projects outside my expertise—I’d rather be upfront than risk disappointing you due to a lack of familiarity with your genre. I’m currently on the fence about Xianxia and Wuxia-inspired Progression Fantasy and may decline submissions if I feel your lore exceeds my knowledge.
-
Turnaround time depends on manuscript length, but for a full novel (80k–100k words), expect a two-week turnaround—not including waitlist time of which you’ll be made aware of during consultation.
-
Revisions? Yes, I do. If you choose to implement my feedback, I’ll be available to work alongside you, though at a lower priority as I continue working through the waitlist.
-
Payments are accepted via Wise, Geegpay, or wire bank transfers.
In line with industry standards, I require 50% upfront and the remaining 50% upon delivery of the final developmental edit document.
Please be sure to select the appropriate editing tier to avoid any confusion regarding depth of feedback or pricing.
